Stepping through the front door the first thing that strikes is the lovely fragrant air and the cosy, country hotel feel this charming house exudes. The team run by Peter Granström, the Manager, alongside Nicky Cuthbertson and hands-on owners Sue and Simon Carey in whose family the house has been for over 40 years.
Windlesham Manor has gained a reputation over a forty year period for the highest standards of residential care. Its fully-trained staff emphasise that this is a home and not an institution where caring for loved ones is undertaken in partnership with families. Paying close attention to each individual’s unique and personal needs and enabling them to live as independently as possible is a core principle.

The care given to Joan during her stay at Windlesham by you and all the staff made her latter years happy ones and she told me often that Windlesham was her home. Having worked in a range of areas within the care sector for more than 20 years, I feel privileged to work at Windlesham Manor where my co-workers are sociable, knowledgeable and caring and I feel that I am learning from the best people.
I love my work and the people I work beside. The daily meetings with the residents and their families are always welcome and I feel that Windlesham Manor is a home or second home for everyone involved.
Having worked at Windlesham Manor for more than 25 years I still feel I have the freedom to think outside the box and have all thought considered from my colleagues.
Head of Care
I started working at Windlesham Manor in 1990 and still feel excitement walking through the doors knowing I am about to make different to someone.
I love working at Windlesham because everything is organised and well communicated amongst my co-workers which eases my responsibilities. We are one big happy family in a very friendly environment. I like to organise and plan my day but the most important and satisfactory thing for me is to see the gratefulness of the faces of all the elderly people. Even when doing small and insignificant things, like watering flowers, polishing the dust, stitching buttons, etc.
Martin trained in Westminster catering college alongside Jamie Oliver, Ainsley Harriet and Antony Thomas Worroll. Accolades include student chef of the year 1982. His career included working at the Dorchester Hotel under Anton Mosimann and the Connaught in London. Following on with his own catering business, French Collection Catering, where Martin cooked for the Queen, and festive occasions for film stars and music celebrities nationwide. After selling the business 25 years later he is now cooking for our very special residents.
